A song inspired  by one of my favorite places on earth...Big Sur, California. When I go back there I feel the presence of my ancestors, most of whom are from the west. Although I left my native state when I was three, our family went back often and I have always felt it "in my blood"

BACK IN CALIFORNIA

It's been so long since I've been home.
I miss the sun, the highway and the sea.
I miss the fir tress and the mountains in mist.
O Big Sur you're calling me.

I'm back in California,
in the land where I was born.
I got here in the morning
now I'm finally back at home.

The highway snakes along
and the hawk is on the wing.
The sea lions are sleeping down in the bay.
I sing my song as the road winds along,
all the way to Monterey.

I'm back in California...
